Jessica Dance: knitted electronics and street style

Jessica Dance, London-based textile artist and prop stylist (whose previous work can be seen here and here), gives to common and daily-used objects another layer of tangibility, transforming electronic apparel and accessories in knitted carbon copies with pure 100% wool yarn. After having previously worked on creating food into fuzzy and squishy replicas, the British artist is now focused on vintage electronics and sneakers Nike, that has called Vintage Knits and Vintage Flufftronics respectively.

The famous food photographer David Sykes photographed Dance’s new pieces in a way that showcases the impression that the fuzzy items are being displaced for a fashionable magazine. The knitted art pieces are placed in front of colourful backgrounds, their wooly appearance in stark contrast with the sleek portrayal method.
